        On a side note, even after *much* cajoling/explaining, a buddy 
played around with Partition Magic 5.0 from PowerQuest .. and did some 
partitioning/making Linux Partitions ... and bam! only his win98
partition works now ... :)

        Moral: Stick to fdisk, unless you have reason not to.
