There is usually a well commented .muttrc included with the
distro..if however, you are interested in some better config files,
I'll recommend Sven Guckes's and Tom Gilbert's rcs...I've them
somewhere on my m'c and will send them if i manage to locate them.
BTW, mutt is a capable MUA, and very light so it is even better to
use it with VI. Search http://dotfiles.com for some more configs

If you have emacs open, there is no reason to use mutt..use VM.
