i am trying to set a ppp dial in server on Rh6.2 (PCQ)
i am able to connect to the system and log on..
i am dialing from a windoze 95 client.
it says verifying user name and password...
then it says logging on to the netowrk.
but immedietly the modem gets disconnected.but windoze still says
"connected at 9600 for ---sec etc".
but when i dont run the pppd and instead go to shell prompt.. there is no
problem it keeps on working..it doesnt get disconnected.
this problem occurs when i use the pppd file from a working RH6.0
machine (size of pppd=120020).
when i try to use the pppd which comes with RH6.2 (pppd size=140656)i
get the following error
Your IP address is : 155.10.7.46
Domain Name Server IP address is : 155.10.7.2
/usr/sbin/pppd: By default the remote system is required to
authenticate itself
/usr/sbin/pppd: (because this system has a default route to the
internet)
/usr/sbin/pppd: but I couldn't find any suitable secret (password)
for it to use to do so.
please tell me what could be wrong.. where i should look fro error logs
if any etc.
