At the lilo prompt, type in ``linux vga=ask''. Then you will get a
list of modes available. Select one of them, and remember the
hexadecimal code next to it.

Once you get a mode which you like, edit /etc/lilo.conf, and in the
section of your booting kernel, add the option "vga=xxxx" where xxxx
is a decimal number (converted from hexadecimal). I don't know how to
put the hexadecimal directly.

I use 0F05 on my machine, the equivalent is 3845. Thus 0F0x = 3840 + x.
