        Well, it works (tm).
And I've tried it out personally on enough
machines/modems/OSes and *I* am satisfied with it. I don't have the
knowledge/patience/joblessness to try explaining stuff -- If you don't
agree with it, well, you could seriously consider a lesson in
netiquette, before posting. If *you* think its rubbish, fine, GA --
its a free world , but there are a bunch of norms that one requires to
maintain on a mailing list. For instance, I have long used this on
over 10 different modems, with varying results, *even* on GVC modems
and I *KNOW* that the damn thing works.

<rant>

That doesn't mean I'm asking you to screw off... please
do re-read some documentation on how to post to a mailing list.

Hey, you're probably a guru,.. I'm not denying that,-- Infact,
your mails on those syn floods and "hacker tools" had me interested/impressed
... but you just lost all my respect.

What I'm saying is this -- be a full-fledged "guru" in your own
right by supporting your claims/statements/assertions with
URLs/documentation -- If you can't do that, it more or less amounts to
an opinion -- I could "claim" that my Linux Install sings me rhymes
everyday using artificial intelligence, sings me Bon Jovi when I'm in
the mood for it, and sings me Lata Mangeshkar when I'm the other kind
of a mood... -- you can't disprove it. When you come down to no support
with your statements, it is required that you maintain a base level of
decency/netiquette... Its like saying, "You are all worthless crap,
and I rule you all, and what you're saying is rubbish because I am
right and you can't disprove it" ... that is a baseless argument and the kind
employed by lamers.

Mukund> Please restrain from posting such rubbish to the list.

FYI -- I think you mean, "Please *REFRAIN* from posting
[...]" and not "Please *RESTRAIN* [...]" ... so how would it be if
someguy posted backing saying , "you're a loser, go figure out english
first.!!!!" .. well get it? It doesn't hurt to be a little decent
while posting an email...

And just to re-satisfy myself, I checked it out on my D-Link
DMF-336E just now and it worked. So I still maintain it.I don't know/care why
the thing works/shouldn't work -- I've *practically* checked it out,
hands on, and it works to *my* levels of satisfaction -- getting ~10 different
rockwell based modems to disconnect via a ping -p is enough to satisfy
*me* -- On a more mature front, we could battle this out more
logically if you sustain *your* argument with some literature ...

</rant>

Please do seriously consider acting a little more civilized next time.
