There is a great app in windows called DownloadAcclerator, it does
this...ie, ftp search, ping and finally does multi threaded
downloads. That gets the best throughput, faster than a wget..one of
the reasons I am forced to go online with Windows.

There are apps better than gozilla, like downacc and mass downloader
under windows. Bad as it that these perform better than Linux apps,
it is worse if we don't do something better:-). The least thing to do
is to write scripts that can do this with whatever is available, ie a
perl script to search the trondheim engine, cull the results, ping
the servers and start the downlaod. Should'nt take more than 30 lines
of code. Will try out tonite.
