hey Kousik,

thanks for the info ! I'm presently having a Compaq presario 1207 (P-150,
16MB ram) but its a real pathetic thing even in win'95; have'nt yet tried
to install rhl 6.2 on it but then what are sundays for ? ;-) I m plannin'
to buy an IBM think pad or another Compaq laptop. Can u suggest which one
should i go for ? Basically I want a 400 mhz processor (intel, amd,
whatever) 128 megs ram, 8mb agp, etc. How old is your notebook ? and how
much did u buy it for ? also did u buy a box pack of Mandrake 7 ? I m
planning to buy a box-pack of either rhl 6.2 or Macdrake 7....my
readersletter to chip not withstanding :-) (c pg.23 of may 2K chip) u can
send me the info about the laptops off the list.

is it possible to buy a notebook (compaq, ibm, or any) *without* win98,
office 2k, etc. preinstalled ? as i plan only to run linux and other
open-source software i dont wanna pay 15k or so extra for M$ "products"
which i dont want.

regards,
Bhavin
