I don't run telnet, but I run ssh. I also run finger - mostly out of
dislike for the kind of unfriendly place the internet has become today.

I also post on USENET without any spam protection these days. Just ignore
the spammers. All it takes is one key stroke.

But if you're super paranoid about security (read: there is a lot of
money at stake), you should turn off all the open ports.
