Hey, that's cheating !! you point out the obvious and you want me to
forgive you also ? :-)

Biju> three machines. All the NTs one, Unices on another,
Biju> etc. That way you could optimise the method that is native

Biju, the thing is as of now I have lesser machines i.e.around 40
machines and in another month or so this is gonna expand to aroung 120
machines. So, the thing is if I don't do that now, I endup trying to be much
more ambitious than I am now ;-) So as machines keep coming, I can
just go on adding machines to the network and set them up. As of now
we are using NIS for all the Unices and M$Networking for windows
machines. That actually does what you suggested I presume. Wrong ?

Just came up with a solution of using AFS on all the machines and then
using software raid to collate all that. Now which level raid do I use
? And since it is AFS we do not have any licensing issues. :-) and we
have a opensource afs client for Linux. :-))))
So hop onto any kernel version and we will not endup in problems of
kernel incompatibilty.
Thanks Biju.
