I too faced this problem but I was doing a fresh install on another
partition.
Then I blamed my cd drive and did not try it. I am still using 6.1 and
debian.

I have a dos, rh6.1, debian, and one spare patition for experiment on 4.3 GB
disk.
I use loadlin to load what ever I wish to load. BTW I hate whatever goofs up
boot sector of my hard disk, hence keep lilo miles away from my hard disk.

I feel debian installation is cake walk for expert, as the base system is 40
Mb and you can install what ever you want.

I have not tried mulinux of this month, but earlier version which has
appeared in pcq was floppy based only and very little can be cramped in 1.7
Mb floppy (normal 1.44 Mb)

This month version will probably install on dos patition, but then you loose
the ruggedness of ext2 file system.
