That's because SiS does NOT make display boards, they are *chipset*
manufacturers. The boards are made by other dudes who are free to
tinker/tweak the chipset and stuff.

On top of that there are usually BIOS and chipset revisions which
can(?) break stuff even though the advertised model might be identical.

There fore u can assume that 2 identical SiS display boards need not
technically be the same.
