now i am even more confused. You want to use "convert" which comes with
ImageMagick or use ghostscript ( gs ). Unfortunately ghostscript does not
have a device(driver) to write to jpg or gif. But to be sure do a
        gs -h
to see the list of devices supported, just incase it has support for
fileformat you want.
