You can run vgetty from command Line like 'vgetty ttyS1' where ttyS1 is
modem port.
Now go to /var/log/vgetty.ttyS1 and look 'waiting.....' In fact put the
vgetty in inittab only when everything is OK.
If you dont get this and vgetty spawns too fast check for he speed in
voice.conf and specify the speed with 'vgetty -s 38400 ttyS1' on command
line
Now if call comes vgetty should answer the call and watch out for messages
in /var/log/vgetty.ttyS1
If vgetty spawns too fast after the first call then set the init force
string to ATZ in /etc/mgetty-sendfax/mgetty.conf
Remember some of the modem like gvc do not work properly as they do not
allow reset by lowering the dtr line. I would suggest dlink 56.6 which i
found to be most obedient.
