Sorry, I was not on the list till now. So, I did not get your problem
exactly. And Maybe this is not the solution also. But, what is vg
there ? Is it a symlink to vgetty ? what is the exact line you added
in /etc/inittab to get your modem working as an answering machine ?
And I am surprised why you are getting that command when somebody is
lifting the receiver ?
