No. Nothing wrong with my system. By some weird chance, _both_ the CDs I
used (first a pcq redhat 6.2 and then a Bang!Linux vintage suse 6.3 demo)
were badly screwed. At least half a dozen key packages in both gave "bad
magic" errors. Just my $#$#@^ luck, I suppose :(
