Assuming that you have genuine CDs and other hardware like a good CDdrive, 
the only cause for SIG 11 is flaky hardware. You might try opening the case 
and seeing whether the cards are sitting tight...if not, change the RAM. 
When I first installed Linux, my PC had 32 MB RAM which Windows recognised, 
but Linux exited with a sig 11. After getting a 64 MB memory stick, install 
went off fine. I still use the old 32 MB ram in the other memory 
slot...total recognised mem in Linux is 80 MB, Windows shows 96 MB;-)
