        Though I can't help you about it but this is just to inform
you that most of the problems in installing linux are due to faulty
hardware supplied by the vendors. 
        I have helped many a friends intall linux on assembled
boxes. There have been cases when a seemingly well working system on
doze could not install linux. Linux uses the system resources in a much
better way and tries to extract whatever it can from the hardware.
        So, if some system fails to install any of 2-3 different
distributions, take it for granted that there is something wrong with the
hardware, unless the problem is due to unsupported hardware.
