You have to go around generating mime headers, content-type header, etc,
base64 / uucp / whatever encode it ...

Do yourself a favor - use perl for this ;)  MIME::Tools module is
the best.  Or see http://www.gorski.net/scripts - he has something called
mailer.pl which does this.

I wouldn't bother to try this while talking smtp ;)
