Exactly which virus are you talking about which will not strike
after 1998? The virii are date-dependent and not year dependent.
Setting system clock back by years is NOT going to prevent ANY virus.

Do yourself a favour. Go to

http://www.datafellows.com/

and download the command line version of their antivirus
fp307b.zip and fp307.zip from there. Make a shortcut to it and put ithat
in your startup folder. At every boot of your machine, the system will
be checked for virii and will be under vigilance.

Suraj, he is not stupid for suggesting you that. Stop whining. The
person who junked your HDD actually fooled you by robbing you of your
money. No HDD can be _corrupted_ physicall by a software program.

Correct your system date, install the antivirus, keep updating it. Makes
sense to me.
