Protocols such as telnet and FTP are higher level protocols. They are not
part of the kernel. The lower level TCP and IP protocols are part of the
kernel.
Read /usr/src/linux/README for instructions on recompiling the kernel.
Read 'man inetd' and 'man services' for info on how you can disable FTP and
telnet.
