There's a new bug being discovered almost everyday
in the software we use, like for eg in Phirana recently...
Therefore protecting the machine IMO, is not all entirely
shutting off certain services. And admin who has'nt got the latest patches
is taking a risk with his quarry.

An important aspect of security is notsomuch as preventing
others entry but to make info difficult to get.
If a device driver which writes to the hdd, can
be got to encrypt the info, before storing it . It would not
matter to the user , but any unauthorised crip, would'nt make
 out what it is.

Working on these lines might give you an unique product,
though work has been done on this before in Free BSD.
