How about using a cryptographic file system? Protect everything.

Wasn't that supposed to be OpenBSD? IIRC, OpenBSD is written with the security aspect
primarily in mind, while FreeBSD is with stability.
Note: While the primary goals may differ, this does not imply that either of them is
unstable or insecure. The security is only as bad as the admin.
