Hi all
Yes it did. The display is 530 worked out of box on RHL 6.1. But I found it
overly sensitive of monitor frequencies.
I have a Philips 15'' Monitor and I used to set any model of Philips 15''
monitor in RHL. There are in all three and mine is not one of listed. However
this 530 display worked only with one setting. I have made it work with any of
monitor for S3Trio 64+ and cirrus logic CLGD5430 card.
Also it being on board, it shares memory from main memory. For that reason, I
will get another display card anyway...
The sound is ESS-solo1 and configured easily by sndconfig.
Now don't laugh. The problem is still ahead.
I compiled the kernel at vendors place. It compiled OK. I brought whole setup
home. Same CPU, Same mobo, same memory and even same set of cables. When I say
same, it's same piece, not of same make and model.
Now I tried to compile kernel at home. I again received Sig11.
I turned off HDD DMA. That made make zImage to live a bit longer. But it did not
help to complete it. I even pulled of CDROM/floppy drive to reproduce settings
at vendors place. But no help.
Now I will try to fiddle with BIOS settings...
Any help welcome...
Bye
