Hi everybody,
I have a BIW2B motherboard (which is based on the intel 810 chipset) with an
on-board video (intel 810 VGA) and on-board sound (ADI 1881).
Neither the video nor the audio works under Linux (RHL 6.2 with kernel
2.2.14)
While the audio is not that important for me , I need the GUI badly.
Most of my favourite programs (like gnuplot, xboard, spicecad, etc.) doesn't
run
without the GUI.) . I have been reading the interactions that has taken
place inthis mailing list on the 'intel 810' issue and consequently I have
tried the solutions which were within my reach -- I have installed the
XFCom_810 driver from intel, I have upgraded the kernel from 2.2.14 to
2.2.16-3 from the PCQ CD .
During these installations and upgrades, I got no errors, but the problem
still remains. XConfigurator still says that my X is not properly configured
and when I startx, I get the following message:-

Can anyone tell me what to do? Will I face the same problems if I switch to
some other distro such as SuSE 6.4 ?
Please Help.
