hi pradeep.
first of all try if your monitor is there isn the list. After that
try the custom one and start with the lowest resolution configuration. and
if you are set with lowest one then you can try the higher resolutions as
well...
well if this all fails then try your luck with
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/Xconfig file. make sure that you save the original one
in bakup before editing this file... you can get the man pages for
xconfig.In the monitor section first remove all modes other than 640x480
and try startx...
this all should help...
