hi
i did get success in starting sound on my 810 running rhl6.2 with
kernel 2.2.16-3 . i did it with alsa drivers in pcq cd and with help from
shanu's howto on linux\810.
my problem is that the sound works poerfectly well sometimes but
on other times i get a 'device or resource busy' error while the system
loads snd-card-0 module. what could be the reason for this inconsistency.
if anyone has configured alsa drivers, kindly help me. i have done a lot
of poking in my conf.modules and also tried various arguments with the
configure script in alsa package, but...
i'm unable to download the latest drivers from alsa sight 'coz of
some server problem. i'm running X with 24bpp at 800x600. the only thing
lacking is sound and some video player.
