Gurus,
We have registered our domain and we are working at three different sites.
All users have been given POP box on the mail server hosted on the internet
([EMAIL PROTECTED])
At every site a mail server is setup to fetchmail for the local users from
the doamin server and deliver outward mail using sendmail to vsnl relay.
I found that any mail that is addressed to any users on our domain but
outside the local net is delivered to root. (that is user on other two
networks).
After some tweaking which involved using fictitious domain name and
masquerading official domain name ( I plead gulity as I did not note
everything down) I got the mail delivered through the relay to domain mail
server on the internet. BUT now all mail goes out. Even mail for local users
on the local network goes thru rely and back from domain mail server via
fetchmail.
After reading through man sendmail I am still confused. How do I achieve
this?
Second problem is .fetcmailrc giving all user accounts and password is in
path /root. This imples that fetchmail should run by root (or some one
having su password). How to achieve a setup where any user may run fetchmail
(for all the local users) when he is connected to the net without of course
being able to use su mode? OR / ALSO how to set up CRON to do this in
background as startup service?
TIA
Sudev
