When u start X, using startx or in whatever way, use an & to do it
in background. eg startx &
Then when u press ctrl+alt+Fn, u'll comeback to the commandprompt
from where u launched X. (You may need to press enter to get the command
prompt visible)
Now u can exit from there, or just lock the vt using vlock.
