+       When u start X, using startx or in whatever way, use an & to do it
+ in background. eg startx &
+       Then when u press ctrl+alt+Fn, u'll comeback to the commandprompt
+ from where u launched  X. (You may need to press enter to get the command
+ prompt visible)
+       Now u can exit from there, or just lock the vt using vlock.

Even that wont help much because the console is still open. Best thing,
boot into runlevel 5 (for slackware) which directly gives you X during
startup. But beware, make sure X is working smoothly before changing the
default runlevel.
