Hi,
I had sent this mail yesterday. But somehow it has not reached the list. So I am
sending it again.
Here now we have got a fully configured machine as per our requirements with Red Hat
6.2.
We now want to backup the entire hard disk as it is with all the rights, timestamp
etc. intact on a dat drive.
In case of crash or some problem with the server we want to do basic linux
installation and than restore from this dat drive.
We used the following command which we were earlier using on SCO too :
find . -depth -print | cpio -ocvdumB > /dev/st1
This on linux gives broken pipe error message.
Can anybody tell us how the above task can be accomplished in linux.
Thanks in advance.
Rajesh
