Hack your /etc/X11/XF86Config and put 320x400 into it. If I am correct, you need it  
to see movies. In that case, copy /etc/X11/XF86Config in your home directory, change 
resolution and run X. Since X looks in current directory frst, you
need not change global settings.

Secondly keep only one resolution for it, otherwise a virtual desktop with max. 
resolution specified, will apeear. It can't be turned off.
