Not exactly, when kppp shows 4 kbps, netscape reports typically between 2-2.7 kBps. I 
am always doubtful as to trust whom.

To verify, I fired a wget donload in a session. I didn't do any other network activy. 
The donload was of 1.6 MB. I can see it from file size. But kppp
reported aroung 2MB  in. There is alway difference of minimum 10% between data saved 
to disk and bytes coming in. What are they for?
