it should have been the other way round for i.e kpp should have reported
lower than actual. On the other hand, on my messages logs i find some
times an error like "bsd-compress 13 not supported" those are on days i am
having a bad connection. But on other days no such message is their, does
it mean they are supporting the compression.

<excited> there was a posting on the list about this some time back on
this, have to check. Have'nt configures dns but i try to keep the ips of
things like google etc on my /etc/hosts.
