this would hapen with linux softlinks too. if u remove the file to which
the softlink is made, then any aplication is to complain.....or probably
i dint get what u said.
i think if windows doesn't find a shortcut target (as they call it),
then it tries to find out the closest posible file which matches
description in PIF (binary format). at least for shortcuts in documents
menu this works. but with WinME/2k, even executables executed last seem
to get placed in the "Documents" folder in "Start Menu".
