are you using rhs-print filters? Ideally if it works through samba client
it must also work as remote ( unix) printer. Make sure lpd is running
on the remote machine.

And what driver are you using ( check in /var/spool/lp/lp?/postscript.cfg)

as far as just printing is concerned not much configuration is required.
One can use the "smbprint" or the "smbclient" commands/scripts to do the
same.
