I also faced the same problem. I asked the mutt developer. He was kind
enough to reply. Do the following.

1. cd /usr/share/Eterm/themes/Eterm
2. vi theme.cfg
3. search for font
4. there will be a line called
        font default 1
        font 0 5x7
        font 1 6x10
        font 2 fixed
        font 3 8x13
        font 4 9x15
        font 5 10x20
        font 6 12x24

5. Change the font default to your liking. I use font default 5 at
1280x1024 resolution. Try out 3,4,5 whichever satisfies you. Now whenever
you launch Eterm you will get the contents inside with the above font size.

I launch mutt in icewm with the following :

    Eterm -g 120x45 -e mutt

More than happy with it. I also get different theme pics inside Eterm every
time I start mutt. Coooooollllllll..

Hope this helps.

Regards
