I'm sorry.. about looking like such a fool. it has got to do with the chmod
command. could someone really take sometime and explain to me the workings
of this command. i tried using the man pages i could make out some of the
stuff. but am still clueless about the following:
1) how do i change a setting (as root) for a particular user.
2)how does one get to the magic figure in octal.. i mean how does one go
about calcualting it.
help me.... Anyone?
