Resierfs - under development Journalising File System.
Replacement / Choice over the existing default ex2 file system in linux.
Major benefits visible to us newbies - if the power goes or you have to
powerdown without shutting down properly, the PC comes on faster because it
does not take time checking disk integrity like fsck does at start-up.

Supposedly faster - I have seen no perceptible evidence of that on my seagate
8 gb.. - oooh all right maybe 20%.

Expected to be in kernel from 2.4.1 - currently available as a patch at
www.reiserfs.org . also part of the latest mandrake and suse distributions.

Hope this helps
Ashwin
