Hi shyam,
I have 2 kernels .For the Kernel I am booting I don't have the System.map
file in the /boot directory nor in
the / directory.I have the system.map file for the newly compiled
kernel.But it still works perfectly .
Infact I tried even removing the System.map file but it still booted
properly.If this is the file that
contains the symbols and their corresponding addresses ,then what is the
purpose of
the file /proc/ksyms?I am a bit confused here.Please help.
