Where is your /bin/bash ?, without shell you can not log in. If other user
can log in with bash then most probably your /etc/passwd is screwed up.
If /etc/passwd is screwed up just boot with boot disk and mount linux
partition and fixed/edit the /etc/passwd and put appropriate shell entry
/bin/bash.
