'o' in slrn is by default bound to save-article. You need to have a
News/ directory in your home (similar to Mail/ used by many mail
clients). slrn appends the article to a file with the same name as the
newsgroup, with the first letter capitalized (so posts to rec.humor are
saved in News/Rec.humor).

Does your NNRP server allow posting? For me, it says:

                   This is important.
