The default set editor_command given in slrnrc file did not work. However when
I replace it with what suresh had given :

set editor_command "vim %s +%d -c ':0;/^$/+'"

now vi is starting and I can type the message. Even putting without any
arguments set editor_command "vi" works.

Why those arguments needed ?

Thanks for all the help.
