Rajesh Fowkar forced the electrons to say:

How can he install an RPM if he doesn't have the rpm command on his
machine?? :-)

I'd suggest booting from the CD, going for an expert install and
installing rpm's RPM from the shell that comes up on <Alt-F2>.
