hello listers

Though sound silly then too I want to know that is there any way that if some forget
his root password & want to know what passwd he has assign rather that changing to new
passwd for root.

just reading the /etc/passwd shows

root:x:0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash

ie passwd as x

how can we interpret this x in actual

Thanks in advance

dipankar
