Actually, your passwords are encrypted by a one way hash.
So you cannot reverse the encryption. However, you may be able to
run crack against /etc/shadow (which contains encrypted passwords).
This *may* work
>root:x:0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash
>how can we interpret this x in actual
The x means that the actual encrypted password is in /etc/shadow.
