hello everybody ,
I am installing 6.2 linux on Hp brio system with having realteak pci
network card . the problem is it detects my network card installs it . and it uses
ne2k-pci ( as shown in conf.modules ) but i am unable to ping or trace my network .
but im able to ping loopback or the ip which i have given to it while installation .
also when i type the command netstat -rn the results shows
Desti Gateway Genmask Flags Mss Window irtt Iface
127.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 U 0 0 lo
That is it is not showing the eth0 my ethernet interface . but when i type ifconfig -a
it shows my ethernet interface and an IP which i have given to it ( 192.168.1.101 ) i
tried restarting the interface several times but with no success . also sometimes it
give me an error initialization fails . but when i restart the system it's not showing
any error .
As i am using dual boot linux/windows98 . in win98 the things are going
perfectlty fine its not giving me a trouble . everything is smooth .
So please suggest me what shall i do to make my linux up on network . its the
first time i am facing the problem of installing network card on linux . As i have
installed the same pci card many times in linux with ne2k-pci ...
