Some font/terminal/background color combinations might not like color ls output very well. In either case try out the following alias ls='/bin/ls --color=auto' next try this one and do a listing alias ls='/bin/ls -F' This one will put a tag after each file/directory name which will help you identify the type of file it is. Once you decide which one to use just add that to your .bashrc or whatever shell rc script you are using. ---------------------------------------------- LIH is all for free speech.
