Since I failed to get X up under Debian, I thought of another idea. I
reinstalled without agpgart support, and thought of compiling the agpgart
module source from www.debian.org/~branden. When I typed make, the error
was "/usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h" not found. /usr/src/ was empty,
so I installed the kernel-source.deb using apt-get, which put the .bz2
file of kernel under /usr/src/. I unpacked it, made a /usr/src/linux dir
pointing to the new unpacked sources. Now when I compile the module again,
the error says again the version.h not found, and "configure the kernel
first" message.(there is no version.h file). What am I to do? This Debian thing is
really frustrating.
:-(
