Dear rescuers,
I intalled RedHat7
Loved IT
I then went on to try to install Lin 2.4.1
That is when it all began.........
I had earlier downloaded ppp 2.4
I did a ./configure
make
make install
I kept ppp as a module in the kernel.
But it did not work
I made a dev /dev/ppp as told in the README.linux file
that came along .....
I then installed mkinitrd 2.6
did a make make install
Now i have major and minor number problem with all win
partitions and my cdrom........
i had installed modutils 2.4 before installing lin
2.4.1
I did do a make modules and modules_installed.
Now
I cannot access any win partition..... CD or the net
even from the kernel which came along with redhat....
Please tell me how should i have gone about installing
lin 2.4......... the step by step guide after
installing RH7 incase I format my disk............
which i dont wish to as I do not have the RH cds...
How do i get my system back so that I can thank you
guys after booting in linux and accesing my mail via
the same....
Also I cannot access lin 2.4 source I deleted it ...
the /usr/src/linux source gives errors when i attempt
to compile it......

PS: I HAVE A CREATIVE VIBRA 128 WHICH SNDCONFIG SAYS
IT IS NOT SUPPORTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SB NOT SUPPORTED?????????????/
