Hi,
What I have got is this.
----------------------------------------------------------------
rajesh@debian:/usr/src$ l
total 139936
drwxr-xr-x 15 root src 4096 Mar 29 21:18 linux
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 106496000 Jan 5 02:56 linux-2.4.0.tar
-r--r--r-- 1 root src 2353974 Feb 22 21:05 patch-2.4.1-pre10
-rw-r--r-- 1 root src 6629967 Mar 29 01:09 patch-2.4.2
----------------------------------------------------------------
I untared 2.4.0 source applied 2.4.1-pre10 patch and over that applied
2.4.2 patch but after compilation I still get 2.4.1-pre10 kernel ???
----------------------------------------------------------------
rajesh@debian:/usr/src$ uname -a
Linux debian 2.4.1-pre10 #1 Thu Mar 29 21:09:07 GMT 2001 i686 unknown
rajesh@debian:/usr/src$
----------------------------------------------------------------
While compiling too I could see on the screen the parameters passed to gcc.
One of them was -k 2.4.1 . Why is that the 2.4.2 patch is not working and I
still get the kernel 2.4.1 ?
I even tried applying directly 2.4.2 patch without applying the 2.4.1-pre10
patch. But in between the compilation aborts with some error.
What could be wrong ?
Thanks a lot.
Regards
Rajesh
